Trophy Elk Hunt in Northern New Mexico

This amazing property in Northern New Mexico borders some of the most famous properties that New Mexico has to offer including the Vermajo, the Phimont Boy Scout Ranch, as well as the Once-in-a-lifetime Valle Vidal. With 20,000 acres that is strictly managed for wildlife meaning there is not a livestock program on the property ever, and the only animals you will see are the Elk, Mule Deer, occasional Mountain lion, Black bear, and coyote. This property has a long track record of bulls in the 280 - 300 inch class, but has and can produce bulls upwards of 330 - 350 inches B&C, typically this is only one or two bulls a year, but it does happen occasionally. With elevations ranging from 7,500 - 9,000 feet the region of the state can be as physical as you would like but overall when comparing to other elk hunts in the west isn't as phyiscal as many of the areas you will find in Colorado, Western Wyoming, or Western Montana. You can expect to see tracts of pinion, juniper and other species of pine including Ponderosa, broken up with grassy valleys, small creeks, and multiple water holes. Glassing techniques along with spot and stalk is a very productive way of hunting this property. Accomadations are a rustic ranch cabin located on the property that features a fire place, family room with family style dining along with 5 seperate bedrooms that give you plenty of space to get comfortable in the evenings after a day of hunting, and although this ranch is quite remote there is WiFi at the cabin that will allow you to stay a little connected to the outside world during your stay.
